We receive many questions from parents about kickboxing equipment and children's sizes. People are unsure about which sizes they need.
Parents are used to children's sizes like size 134, but kickboxing gear works a little differently . This article aims to provide a guideline for children's kickboxing gear and the corresponding children's sizes.

Sizes for children's kickboxing gear: children's boxing gloves, shin guards and kickboxing shorts.
Boys and girls, sizes 110 to 128.
Size 110 - 5 years
Size 116 - 6 years
Size 122 - 7 years
Size 128 - 8 years
There is a very big difference between the brands and the sizes they offer. For example, Twins runs very small, Booster has certain shorts that run very small, while some shorts from XPRT run a bit larger.
Therefore, we always try to provide a size chart or indication per brand and per product.
Boxing glove size
Children aged 5, 6, and 7 years old should choose 6 oz, and children aged 8 years old can choose 8 oz. If your son or daughter is larger or smaller than their peers, the choice can of course be adjusted.
A good choice of boxing gloves is the XPRT competitor glove made of synthetic leather, costing €30. We're talking about size here, but actually, this refers to the weight of the boxing gloves.
Shin guard size
Children with sizes 110 to 128 are best suited to a shin guard style sock.
We recommend size XXS or XS for children aged 5 and 6, and size S for children aged 7 and 8. Again, if your child is smaller or larger than average for their age, the size can be adjusted. The difference in length is always slightly less than 1 cm between XXS, XS and S.
The best choice is the black sock-style shin guard, or the pink version for girls.
Size of kickboxing shorts
We have a large assortment of kickboxing shorts, but only a few of them really fit small children well.
We've had many children aged 5 to 8 years old in our store, so we know what works and what doesn't.
For boys and girls, we recommend the shorts from XPRT Fight Gear. The black and white ones , the Fight Girl shorts, and the all-black or pink ones in size XS or XXS fit perfectly. These shorts start at €30.
For Booster shorts, it's best to choose size XS. The difference between XS and S is a standard 1-1.5 cm in length and width across all brands.
Boys and girls, sizes 134 to 152.
Size 134 - 9 years
Size 140 - 10 years
Size 146 - 11 years
Size 152 - 12 years
Children in this age group vary greatly in length and weight. Therefore, our advice is always an indication, and if you have any doubts, you can always call or, even better, visit our store.
The gloves will weigh either 8 oz or 10 oz. This depends on your son or daughter's build. The shin guards will be size S, and the shorts will also be size S.
Finding kickboxing equipment and children's sizes remains difficult. The best thing to do is, of course, to come and try things on. Our store is located at Fascinatio Boulevard 1164 in Capelle aan den IJssel. We are open 6 days a week.
