Choosing the right size shin guards can be quite tricky. You don’t buy shin guards very often, and sizes also often vary per martial arts brand.
No worries! We will explain how you can be sure to choose the right size shin guards next time.
Correct shin guard size
There are 2 different ways to choose the right size shin guards.
You can either use your body height as a reference or actually measure the length of your shin.
With this information, you can then see exactly which shin guard size corresponds on our shin guard product page (size chart).
Shin guard size based on body height
If you base the size of shin guards on your body height, a size chart looks approximately like this:
| Up to 150 cm | S |
| 150 to 175 cm | M |
| 175 to 185 cm | L |
| More than 185 cm | XL |
Shin guard size based on shin length
If you base the size of shin guards on the length of your shin, a size chart looks approximately like this:
| 33 cm | M |
| 36 cm | L |
| 40 cm | XL |
How do I measure my shin?
Measure from the bottom of your knee to the top of your ankle. If the length is not exactly listed in the size chart, choose the nearest lower length.
The above size charts serve as an example. Sizes of shin guards vary per martial arts brand.
Always check the product page (size chart) of the shin guards to make sure you are using the correct size chart.
