Choosing the right size shin guards can be quite tricky. Shin guards aren't something you buy very often, and the sizes often vary between martial arts brands.
Don't worry! We'll explain how to make sure you choose the right size shin guards next time.
Correct size shin guards
There are 2 different ways to choose the right size shin guards.
Either you use your body height as a benchmark or you actually measure the length of your shin bone.
With this information you can then see exactly which size shin guard fits you on our shin guard product page (size chart).
Shin guard size based on body height
If you let the size of shin guards depend on your body height, a size chart looks something like this:
| Up to 150 cm | S |
| 150 to 175 cm | M |
| 175 to 185 cm | L |
| Over 185 cm | XL |
Shin guard size using shin bone as a benchmark
If you let the size of shin guards depend on the length of your shin, a size chart looks something like this:
| 33 cm | M |
| 36 cm | L |
| 40 cm | XL |
How do I measure my shin?
Measure from the bottom of your knee to the top of your ankle. If the size chart doesn't show the exact length, choose the nearest lower length.
The size charts above are for reference only. Shin guard sizes vary between martial arts brands.
Therefore, always check the product page ( size chart ) of the shin guards to ensure you use the correct size chart.
