Frequently asked questions — All products from XPRT Fight Gear

What is the background of the XPRT brand?

The story of XPRT Fight Gear begins in 2005. An enthusiastic martial artist and entrepreneur has been dreaming for years of a shop full of the finest fighting gear, available and accessible to everyone.

Through personal experiences in the form of training camps, seminars, competitions, and research, he gained a clear vision of how to offer martial arts, combat sports, and martial arts equipment to a broader audience in the new millennium.

With extensive experience in Thai boxing, boxing, karate, and especially ITF Taekwon-do, Fight2Win takes its first steps toward a complete product range. Initially, this consisted exclusively of ITF Taekwon-do uniforms and safety equipment under the Taekwon-do.nl brand and website.

Then came the slogan: Fight2WinAnd eventually, with the help of other martial artists and graphic designers, a logo and name emerged for a groundbreaking and affordable martial arts brand: XPRT Fight Gear!

What is the difference between synthetic leather and leather in XPRT kids boxing gloves?

Most XPRT kids boxing gloves are made of synthetic leather—durable, easy to maintain, and affordable, making them ideal for beginners and recreational athletes. The premium XPRT Top Gloves (Black, Black-Pink, and Pink) and the Striker are made of genuine cowhide leather—more durable, more supple, and more breathable during intensive use. For children who train regularly and seriously, cowhide leather is the better long-term investment.

How should a shin guard (for kickboxing) fit?

Ideally, a shin guard should extend exactly to just below your knee However, we consider it at least equally important that the shin guard does not fit too loosely around your legs. So even if it does not reach all the way to the knee, if it fits well otherwise, we consider that

more important (read: better) than choosing a larger size. A

too large shin guard is an obstruction and will also start to slide more easily, which is very annoying during training. The foot section should at least cover the top of your instep, but some brands extend it over the entire foot. That is not necessary. So if your

toes stick out —as is the case with the Twins SGL7, for example—that is perfectly fine . After all, you should not kick with your toes either.A kickboxing shin guard should fit snugly around your shin, from just below the knee to above the ankle, and should not be too loose or too tight. It should fully cover your shin for optimal protection without restricting your movement.

For every shin guard, we have created a

unique size chart for that brand and model. Be sure to consult it, and when in doubt, choose a smaller size rather than a larger one. gemaakt voor dat merk en model. Raadpleeg deze vooral en neem bij twijfel eerder een kleinere dan een grotere maat.

Can kickboxing shorts be machine-washed?

Yes.

Most kickboxing shorts can be machine washed, but it’s best to turn them inside out first. It’s also best to wash them at a low temperature. You can optionally place them in a laundry bag to protect them. Hand washing is, of course, the safest option.

Washing instructions:
Always check the washing instructions on the shorts’ label first. Some shorts may require a specific washing temperature or cycle.

Inside out:
Turn the kickboxing shorts inside out to protect the exterior and prints during washing.

Washing machine:
Choose a delicate cycle or a low-temperature wash cycle, such as 30°C or 40°C. Avoid hot water, as it can damage the fabric.

Laundry bag:
Use a laundry bag for delicate clothing to protect the shorts from the movement of the washing machine, especially if the shorts have hook-and-loop fastening.

Drying:
Simply let the shorts air-dry normally. Do not use a dryer, as the heat can damage the fabric and alter the fit.

Additional tips:
It’s best to wash the kickboxing shorts separately or with similar colors to prevent discoloration and color transfer.

Why do you use handwraps?

When boxing and kickboxing, training on the punching bag or with kicking and punching shields, your hands and wrists endure a lot.

Inner gloves and handwraps provide extra protection for your hands, knuckles, and wrists.

As an added benefit, they help extend the lifespan of your boxing gloves by absorbing sweat.

You can find much more information about this in the handwraps collection.
