They are also used in Krav Maga and MMA (stand-up fighting).

Boxing gloves are not sized by "normal" sizes, but by weight expressed in ounces (oz).

For every brand and model of boxing glove on our website, there is a unique size chart (at the size selection and at the bottom in the description). Here we provide the best possible guideline for what we think is the best choice for you for that specific model.

The rule of thumb is: "the heavier the person in question, the heavier the glove to be used is preferred". A heavier boxing glove generally has more padding and is therefore safer for the hands and the training partner. Trainers generally also prefer that you have heavier boxing gloves rather than lighter ones.
