+ Handcrafted with pride

Each product in the RFX Guerrero line is handcrafted from the finest cowhide leather. The artisanal production guarantees consistent quality and finish that machine-made gear cannot match - visible in every detail, felt during every training session.

Rival Boxing Gear: Russ Anber, innovations and international growth

Is a groinguard mandatory?

Yes, usually.

A groinguard is often mandatory or recommended. For boxing, kickboxing, and karate training, for example, it is recommended. In krav maga and self-defense systems, it is mandatory. The area protected by the groinguard is naturally highly susceptible to injury.

For exams and competitions, a groinguard is always mandatory for both men and women.

Why are groinguards for boxing so different from regular jockstraps?

A "standard" cup only protects the groin. A no-foul protector for boxing protects the kidneys, liver, and groin.

In boxing, the chance of taking punches to the liver or kidneys is much greater than in kickboxing. Therefore, extra protection is needed to minimize the risk of injuries and damage.

Can groinguards and cups be washed?

Yes and no.

This depends on the brand and model. You can almost never wash the cup (the hard part), nor do you need to. Most regular groinguards are worn in a type of sports brief (jockstrap). You can remove the cup and wash the brief.

The larger kidney and groinguards (No-Foul) for boxing can of course not be washed in a washing machine. This actually shouldn’t be necessary. You can simply wipe them down and dry them to keep them fresh.

Of course, you can’t wash the steel cups either. The metal isn’t resistant to this.

What size groinguard should I get?

When choosing the size of groinguards, the waist circumference is the main consideration, rather than the cup size itself. For each groinguard, we have included a unique size chart (in the size selector and below in the product information) for that specific brand and model.
