  • + Exact gewogen - 16 oz is echt 16 oz

  • + MS300 10 oz - officieel wedstrijdgewicht

  • + Klassieke vetersluiting - maximale polsondersteuning

Tips for Winning lace-up boxing gloves

It is recommended to always use handwraps with your Winning's. In addition to reinforcing your hands, these also absorb a lot of sweat.

A disinfectant spray and a deodorizer- to help your gloves dry faster - are also highly recommended to keep your boxing gloves fresh and in good condition.

Winning boxing gloves are made of 100% leather and therefore require regular care with leather conditioner and/or leather grease.

A lace converter converts the lace-up closure of your boxing gloves to hook-and-loop, so you can put them on yourself.

Frequently Asked Questions — Boxing gloves Winning MS300 Blue (laces)

What size Winning boxing gloves do I need?

Boxing gloves do not come in “standard” sizes; their weight is expressed in ounces (oz).

The rule of thumb is: “the heavier the person, the heavier the glove they should use”. A heavier boxing glove generally has more padding and is therefore safer for both your hands and your training partner. Trainers also generally prefer you to use heavier boxing gloves rather than lighter ones.

In short, young people train with 6 oz, 8 oz, or 10 oz boxing gloves. Women usually choose 12 oz or 14 oz, while men are often best off choosing 14 oz or 16 oz. Later in this article, we will discuss this in more detail with an example table.

How do I maintain my Winning gloves?

Boxing gloves have a limited lifespan. After all, they are used for hitting, and boxing gloves often take quite a beating.

Of course, you can influence their lifespan yourself by handling them carefully and boxing gloves properly care for them. Don’t throw them in a corner; take them out of your sports bag and let them dry properly (not in direct sunlight).

Is a lace-up closure better for boxing gloves?

Yes.

Although there are modern systems available today with hook-and-loop fasteners that come close to a lace-up fastening, a traditional lace-up closure remains the best way to properly close and secure a boxing glove.

Lace-up boxing gloves are usually secured with a single lace that crosses both sides. The lace is then pulled tight so that the gloves fit snugly.

The end of the laces is then tied around the wrist section of the lace-up boxing glove. Lace-up boxing gloves are otherwise usually virtually identical to gloves with an (easier) hook-and-loop closure.

Advantages of lace-up boxing gloves:

  • Snug, secure, and comfortable fit around the wrist
  • Usually padded wrists for increased comfort
  • The cuff around the wrists feels more streamlined and less bulky
  • No risk of opponents being scratched by hook-and-loop fasteners

Disadvantages of lace-up boxing gloves:

  • Requires assistance from another person to tie
  • Slower to put on and take off, so not ideal for shorter training sessions
  • The ends of the laces may cut opponents
What type of padding do Winning boxing gloves have?

Winning boxing gloves are praised by (professional) boxers for their high-quality, multilayered foam padding.

This unique padding is designed for the best possible shock absorption. This reduces hand and wrist fatigue while maximizing protection for both the wearer and their training partner.

The padding in Winning gloves is an important factor in their comfort and ability to reduce the risk of injuries. These gloves are therefore nicknamed "pillows".

Details:

  • Multilayered foam: Winning boxing gloves use an advanced system of foam layers to effectively absorb shocks.
  • Ergonomic design: the boxing gloves are designed to fit securely and snugly, ensuring good finger mobility and overall comfort.
  • Weight distribution: the boxing gloves are designed to distribute weight evenly, promoting good punching technique and control. At the same time, this minimizes strain on the hands.
  • Breathable materials: Winning gloves are made from breathable materials, which contributes to comfort and prevents overheating during training.

Conclusion from many professionals:

Winning boxing gloves excel at providing a balance between comfort, protection, and performance, thanks to their well-designed multilayered foam padding.

What does “oz” mean?

Oz stands for the English word ounce. An ounce (abbreviated as oz) is a unit of weight often used in the United States, the United Kingdom, and other countries that follow this system. One ounce is approximately equal to 28.35 grams.

For boxing gloves (and MMA gloves)this refers to the weight(the size) of the gloves. The more padding the gloves have, the higher the oz.

Should I condition or grease the leather?

Yes.

Just like our own skin, leather products should be cared for regularly to prevent them from drying out and similar issues.

It is best to lightly apply leather grease to your leather product, such as boxing gloves, from time to time.

Is there a difference between kickboxing gloves and boxing gloves?

No.

Actually, there is no difference.

Some brands are more focused on boxing, while others are more focused on kickboxing and thai boxing.

There are some minor differences, but in practice you can use boxing gloves for kickboxing and kickboxing gloves for boxing.
