Top 9 Hand Wraps for Boxing and Kickboxing (2025)

Top 9 Hand Wraps for Boxing and Kickboxing (2025)

Hand wraps are essential equipment in almost all standing combat sports and their variations. In sports like boxing, kickboxing, Muay Thai, and cardio boxing, almost everyone uses boxing hand wraps, also called handwraps or handwraps.

Anyone who practices these combat and ring sports, whether purely recreationally or competitively, would be wise to have at least one, but preferably several, pairs of decent hand wraps in their bag.

They're used in every workout and are therefore just as important as a good pair of boxing gloves. Choosing the right pair of hand wraps is therefore crucial, and we're happy to help you with that in this best-buy guide.

Why do you wear handwraps when boxing, cardio boxing and kickboxing?

Hand wraps are designed to protect the bones in your hands, knuckles, and wrists during training in all martial arts that involve punching. When applied correctly, they make your fist more compact and allow your hands and knuckles to absorb impact more effectively.

The wraps also provide essential support and alignment for your wrists, improving their posture and better absorbing impact. They also give your hands more grip, making them more like fists, and your boxing gloves will literally fit more like a glove.

A nice added benefit, or rather, a positive side effect, is that the wraps also absorb a lot of sweat, preventing it from returning to your boxing gloves. You can easily wash the wraps after each workout, something you'd better not do with your boxing gloves.

With good handwraps you can train better and harder with a much lower risk of injury than without.

Best Buy Guide for handwraps

Most people (understandably) look for hand wraps for the most popular martial arts: boxing, Muay Thai, and kickboxing. However, even in more fitness-oriented classes like HIIT boxing and cardio boxing, almost everyone uses boxing hand wraps.

Criteria for scoring handwraps*

When evaluating boxing hand wraps, we consider their most important features: the quality of the fabric and finish, comfort, and price. We'll score the hand wraps based on these criteria.

  1. Quality: The fabric used, the finish and strength of the Velcro.
  2. Comfort & Ease of Use: The presence of a thumb loop, the length of the Velcro, and how comfortable the handwraps are for everyday use.
  3. Price: We haven't broken down the price ranges in this best-buy guide, so that's why we're including it as a scoring factor.

Fight2Win offers a huge selection of different handwraps for boxing, kickboxing, and cardio boxing. *From this selection, we will select the top 9 based on customer experiences and feedback, popularity, external review sites, and our own expertise.

1. Twins Cotton CH

Bandages Twins Special Cotton 450 cm - Red

We've finally added Twins hand wraps to our product range, and we're thrilled about it. All Twins equipment in Europe is distributed through the distributor who controls the product range. We've long requested that, in addition to boxing gloves, pads, and shin guards, we also add smaller, but equally important, items like hand wraps and ankle socks.

The Twins hand wraps are made in the homeland of Muay Thai: Thailand. And there, they know full well that good materials are essential for practicing all martial arts.

Quality Twins Cotton CH (Score: 9/10)

The Twins handwraps are exceptionally well-made, as far as you can say for a bandage. The 100% cotton bandage also feels and looks much more luxurious and comfortable than cheaper polyester versions. They feature a beautiful Twins brand label and, like all other Twins Special products, are very sustainably made.

Comfort & ease of use Twins Cotton CH (Score: 9/10)

Twins handwraps are made of slightly stretchy cotton. Cotton is one of the most comfortable materials to wear. This applies to clothing, but certainly also to handwraps. The cotton from which Twins handwraps are made is soft and comfortable.

The advantage of 100% cotton handwraps over polyester blends is that they're much more breathable. This is especially beneficial for handwraps, as you'll sweat a lot anyway. The Twins handwraps are among the most comfortable we've ever used.

The Twins handwraps also feature a convenient thumb loop for wrapping and a neatly finished Velcro closure. Our tip: let them air dry naturally, as cotton wrinkles and shrinks much more than polyester.

Price Twins Cotton CH (Score: 6/10)

The Twins handwraps are in the higher price range, hence the slightly lower rating. However, the Cotton CH are more than worth the price, as you'll get a lot of benefit from them during training.

As mentioned in the introduction, we included price as a scoring factor, because we are comparing handwraps in one category.

Features Twins Cotton CH:

Closure Thumb loop and Velcro
Sizes 450 cm

+ Luxurious and soft 100% cotton

We've been happily offering the regular Hayabusa Perfect Stretch handwraps for many years. They were, and still are, incredibly popular with our customers because of their excellent quality. A few years ago, Hayabusa launched an extra-luxurious version of their handwraps, fittingly named Deluxe.

Thanks to the use of nylon yarn, Hayabusa handwraps retain their desired elasticity for a long time and wrinkle minimally during washing. They also retain their color after repeated washing.

The advantage of nylon handwraps over cotton or cheaper polyester blends is that they wrinkle much less and lose their elastic properties. They are also moisture-resistant, preventing them from molding or becoming soaked.

The Hayabusa Deluxe handwraps naturally have a luxurious thumb loop to start wrapping with, and the Velcro closure features a stylish rubber label.

3. Rival Mexican stretch

Rival Mexican stretch handwraps black

The Rival Mexican Stretch handwraps are among our best-sellers in handwraps. This top Canadian brand has succeeded in offering high-quality handwraps at a very competitive price.

Besides the Mexican, Rival Boxing Gear offers another model of hand wraps: the Guerrero. The Mexican Stretch hand wraps are available in several lengths besides the standard 180" (450 cm), so you can order the perfect length for you.

Rival Boxing Gear is a true boxing brand par excellence, with all key employees having a background in Western boxing. With this knowledge, they bring their products to market with genuine passion.

Quality Rival Mexican Stretch (Score: 8/10)

Mexican Stretch handwraps are made from a blend of two fabrics with the best properties for handwraps: 50% nylon and 50% cotton. This gives them the strong, durable properties of nylon yarn and the comfort and breathability of cotton.

The Rival handwraps initially look a little more fragile (more on that in the comfort section) and less chic than the Hayabusa or Twins, but don't be fooled: these are truly top-notch handwraps!

By using partially nylon yarn, Rival handwraps maintain their desired stretch and wrinkle less during washing. They also retain their color after repeated washing.

Good stretch and softness; good material quality, not too thin or thick; 530cm allows you to wrap your wrist multiple times compared to most other handwraps - this is great for someone with large hands

Comfort & Ease of Use Rival Mexican Stretch (Score: 9/10)

Rival handwraps are made of a slightly stretchy nylon-cotton blend. This makes them comfortable to wrap and comfortable to wear. The secret to these handwraps, however, lies in their minimal thickness.

Rival sought a way to create thinner wraps that offer the same protection as thicker, stiffer versions. Mexican Stretch wraps are the result. This reduces the hassle of cramming very thick fists into your boxing gloves, while providing at least the same level of protection!

Of course, they have a thumb loop and a Velcro closure to fasten them. This looks a bit simpler compared to some other brands, but function trumps appearance here.

8. Winning VL-B Extension

handwraps Winning VL-B Extension Type white

The Winning VL-B hand wraps have been part of our beautiful Winning collection for a while now, and of the Winning hand wraps, this is by far the most popular. Winning is the holy grail of boxing, so the boxing hand wraps naturally belong in the F2W range.

Like all Winning gear, these handwraps come with a hefty price tag. That's simply part of products that are produced sustainably and not in a low-wage country.

Quality Winning VL-B (Score: 9/10)

When we first received the Winning VL-B handwraps, we thought... these are very fragile; they appear to be disposable. Rayon handwraps look very delicate and deserve a little more attention than a cheaper alternative, but they are surprisingly durable.

We've sold quite a few sets of these to competitive boxers, serious recreational boxers, and even professional boxers. Once they get used to them, they won't want anything else. The wraps resemble the gauze used by professional boxers during competitions, but in the form of a reusable bandage.

The Winning handwraps look very well-cared for, but research shows that these delicate hand wraps also require careful handling. It's not a matter of just throwing them in the washing machine with the rest and seeing to it.

Comfort & ease of use Winning VL-B (Score: 10/10)

Winning's VL-B handwraps are made of a stretchy, mesh-like material and feel flimsy. However, they're quite sturdy and offer unparalleled protection for your knuckles. Because they're so thin, you can easily wrap them around your hands like a cast, according to users on Reddit.

Winning handwraps are made of a unique material for handwraps: rayon. Rayon is a synthetic fiber derived from plant cell walls (cellulose). The fibers of eucalyptus trees, bamboo, and wood create the fine threads of the yarn. The yarn is very similar to cotton, but stronger, more supple, and softer. This gives the fabric an almost silky feel.

The Winning handwraps have a luxurious thumb loop and a hook-and-loop closure for fastening. This gives them a simple yet meticulous finish, as we've come to expect from Winning.

Fits securely, lasts an entire workout without coming loose. Worth the price!

We've had the traditional Cleto Reyes hand wraps in our beautiful collection from this classic Mexican brand for some time now. Cleto Reyes is synonymous with boxing, so the boxing hand wraps naturally belong in the F2W range.

Like all Cleto Reyes products, the hand wraps come with a hefty price tag. Understandably, Reyes is a premium brand in the boxing world.

Quality Cleto Reyes Non-Stretch (Score: 8/10)

These are also very durable hand wraps that can withstand a lot of training. The 100% polyester material is also easy to wash and can be rolled up tightly before and after use.

The Cleto wraps look very stylish, but research shows they're not everyone's cup of tea. Some boxers swear by them, some loathe them. But that's not the case with the comfort and ease of use.

Comfort & ease of use Cleto Reyes Non-Stretch (Score: 5/10)

The Cleto Reyes Non-Stretch handwraps are, as the name suggests, non-stretchable. This means they're definitely not handwraps for beginners, as proper bandaging without stretch requires some experience.

A particularly sloppy aspect of the Cleto handwraps is that the Velcro doesn't line up properly when applying the hand wraps. It does work eventually, but you'd expect a little more from such a premium brand.

The Cleto Reyes handwraps are extra long (500 cm), which is a solution for many boxers to bandage extra firmly.

Furthermore, the Cleto handwraps have a well-reinforced thumb loop and, as mentioned before, a Velcro closure to secure them. This closure is also neatly finished with a luxurious Cleto Reyes logo.
