The Rival Mexican Stretch handwraps for boxing come in more than just the standard lengths: 3.8 meters (150"), 4.5 meters (180"), and 5.3 meters (210").

Boxing wraps of 3.8 meters are ideal for women with smaller hands. A boxing wrap of 4.5 meters is recommended for women and men. Rival Boxing Gear offers 5.3 meter long handwraps for those who specifically want extra long handwraps for extra protection.
Care, washing & storage
  • Partially roll up the handwraps.
  • Fasten the Velcro together.
  • Use a laundry bag.
  • Do not use fabric softener.
  • Machine wash cold, at a maximum of 30°C; hand washing is preferred.
  • Air-dry the handwraps, preferably hanging them fully extended.
  • Do not put the handwraps in the dryer. 

Additional tips:

  • Wash the handwraps regularly (after every training session) to keep them hygienic.
  • You can use a mild detergent if desired, but rinse the handwraps thoroughly to prevent soap residue.
  • Let the handwraps dry completely after washing before using them again.

If your knuckles hurt despite wearing good boxing gloves and handwraps, you can also use a knuckle guard .

These are an addition to your regular handwraps. Knuckle guards are ideal if you punch hard or experience knuckle pain.

Most knuckle guards are made of fabric with foam or gel padding that provides extra absorption of the impact from your punches.

Which size Rival handwraps should I choose?

The standard size of handwraps for adults is 180", which is approximately 450 cm. This is also by far the best-selling length.

If you find that too much, have smaller hands, or want to wrap less, you can choose 380 cm. 

If you want extra wrapping for added support for your knuckles and wrists, you can choose the extra-long 530 cm. Please note: this is exceptionally long and usually not suitable for beginners.

What material are Rival handwraps made of?

There are two types of Rival handwraps: Guerrero and Mexican Stretch.

Mexican Stretch:

  • 50% nylon, 50% cotton blend for the perfect amount of stretch and an extra-thin wrap with the same level of protection

Guerrero:

  • 70% polyviscose, 30% nylon blend for the perfect amount of stretch and standard thickness

All types of Rival handwraps are slightly elastic/stretchy, allowing you to wrap your hands perfectly without restricting them.
