Knuckle guards as an addition to handwraps

If your knuckles hurt despite wearing good boxing gloves and handwraps, you can also use a knuckle guard .

These are an addition to your regular handwraps. Knuckle guards are ideal if you punch hard or experience knuckle pain.

Most knuckle guards are made of fabric with foam or gel padding that provides extra absorption of the impact from your punches.

Frequently Asked Questions — Handwraps Hayabusa Perfect Stretch 460 cm

What is the background of the Hayabusa brand?

Hayabusa (pronounced Ha-Ja-Boe-Sa) is the Japanese word for peregrine falcon, the fastest animal on Earth (a bird of prey recorded at over 500 km/h in a dive). The company was founded in 2006 by Ken & Craig Clement, David Zikakis and Luke Harris and has literally taken flight ever since.

Hayabusa is headquartered in Ontario (Canada) and has its global distribution centre in the heart of Las Vegas (United States). Not entirely coincidentally, this is also where the biggest boxing matches and UFC events take place. Hayabusa also has two exclusive contracts with independent sports centres in Canada, where all Hayabusa products are extensively tested.

Hayabusa aims to offer the best materials in terms of comfort, fit, anatomy and, more importantly, performance and safety! A martial artist is constantly improving and developing themselves. This is a Japanese philosophy that is also applied in business and at Hayabusa: Kaizen. This is the concept of “continuous improvement.

What material are the Hayabusa handwraps made of?

There are two types of Hayabusa handwraps: Deluxe and Perfect Stretch.

Perfect Stretch:

  • 50% nylon, 50% cotton blend for the ideal amount of stretch and a comfortable level of comfort and protection

Deluxe:

  • 100% nylon yarn: a luxurious material that feels smooth and comfortable and offers exceptional durability

Yes.

All types of Hayabusa handwraps are slightly elastic and stretchable, providing a smooth and comfortable way to wrap your hands. You can wrap them securely without worrying about cutting off circulation to your hands.

Both the Hayabusa Perfect Stretch handwraps and the Deluxe version therefore have a slight amount of stretch in the material.

The material is finished to a particularly high standard, especially in the Deluxe version. It also features a very stylish rubber label as a closure.

Both the Perfect Stretch and Deluxe handwraps from Hayabusa are also very comfortable and easy to apply. These are more than enough reasons why they are a true bestseller when it comes to handwraps for boxing, cardio boksen, or Thai boxing.

What is the best way to wash Hayabusa handwraps?

The best way to wash your Hayabusa handwraps is to wash them in a laundry bag at a low temperature (30°C or lower) in the washing machine. Hand washing is actually even better.

It is important to fasten the wraps' hook-and-loop closures together before washing to prevent them from catching on each other. After washing, let the handwraps air-dry naturally. Do not put them in the dryer, as they may shrink and crease unnecessarily.

  • Partially roll up the handwraps and place them in a laundry bag or bra wash bag.
  • Wash the handwraps in the washing machine at a maximum of 30°C or use a hand-wash cycle.
  • Let the handwraps air-dry, preferably hung up at full length.
  • Do not put the handwraps in the dryer.

Extra tips:

  • Wash the handwraps regularly (after every training session) to keep them hygienically clean and fresh.
  • You can optionally use a mild detergent, but rinse the handwraps thoroughly to prevent soap residue.
  • Let the handwraps dry completely after washing before using them again.
