For Rival gloves, pads and headgear, follow this brand-specific care advice: wipe them with a clean, dry cloth and let them air-dry outside your bag in a cool, shaded, well-ventilated place. Use only mild cleaners or sports sprays suitable for the material. Do not use petroleum jelly, oil, leather grease or heavy creams on Rival gear, even on leather versions. Do not use any leather grease products or heavy conditioners shown below on Rival either. Avoid washing machines, tumble dryers, direct heat and sunlight.

  • Always use clean handwraps , gelwraps or inner gloves
  • Take them out of your bag immediately after training.
  • Wipe the outside with a clean, dry cloth.
  • Use a deodorizer to help the inside of your boxing gloves dry faster and more thoroughly.
  • Store in a cool, dry place with good natural ventilation.
  • Use an antibacterial spray if needed.
  • Not applicable to Rival: For leather boxing gloves: apply leather grease/leather conditioner once a month to prevent cracking and drying out.

Tips for Cleto Reyes Velcro boxing gloves

It is recommended to always use handwraps with your Cleto's. In addition to reinforcing your hands, these also absorb a lot of sweat. The handwraps can then be washed in the washing machine after use. It therefore certainly doesn't hurt to have multiple sets of handwraps.

A disinfectant spray and a deodorizer- to help your gloves dry faster - are also highly recommended to keep your boxing gloves fresh.

Cleto Reyes boxing gloves are made of 100% leather and therefore require regular care with leather conditioner and/or leather grease.

How do I care for my Cleto Reyes boxing gloves?

Use clean handwraps and take your gloves out of your gym bag immediately after training. Wipe the outside with a soft cloth and let the hand compartment air-dry. Avoid direct heat.

Choose cleaning and care products suited to the outer material and follow the instructions for your model. Leather conditioner is not a standard treatment for microfiber or other synthetic materials. A regular monthly treatment is not necessary or suitable for every type of leather or finish. Use a spray or deodorizer only as directed on the product.
