The key to the success of the Ergo Strap System lies in its simplicity: a conventional strap with a uniform width is replaced by a strap that is wider on the palm side of the wrist and measures 10 cm at its widest point, providing more comfort, stability, and support to the wrist. It has now become an industry standard.
Innovation has always been a priority at Rival Boxing. In fact, our entry into the market was based on a revolutionary concept that set us apart from the rest of the industry.
Before the introduction of the Ergo Strap System by Rival Boxing, most Velcro boxing gloves used a conventional strap of 5 or 7.5 cm to close the glove. This old type of closure did little more than that and offered no support or stability to the wrist. With a bit of thought, a simple innovationwas born; Rival Boxing redefined what "normal" is.
When Rival designed the very first sparring glove, Russ Anber (Founder & CEO) wanted to implement a number of very important things. He wanted to develop a glove that:
Would perform just as well, or better, than any other sparring glove on the market.
Could be used round after round with full confidence by top professionals.
Would last longer than anything they had ever used before.
Would contain a never-before-seen technology and a design Russ had envisioned for at least 15 years.
This led to the creation of the "ERGO LACE TRACK SYSTEM." Using a deep, crisscross pattern around the bottom of the wrist and an ergonomically correct 15-degree angle at the wrist,Rival created the absolutely perfect fit when tying a lace glove, while simultaneously hiding the laces. This paved the way for the birth of Rival Boxing Gear’s very first sparring glove, the RS1.
This concept was so successful that the entire high-end line of Rival was built around this outstanding design. The pinnacle of this came a few years later when Rival introduced the "Angled Lace Track" for the professional fight gloves. Since then, the "Angled Lace Track" has also been introduced on the RS100 Sparring glove.
How does the Ergonomic True-Fist Construction work?
The RS100 sparring glove is one of the gems of Rival Boxing, thanks in part to the innovative and ingenious Ergonomic True Fist Construction system.
When you put your hand into one of these boxing gloves, you can comfortably close your fist to achieve the most natural fist position, without suffering from the uncomfortable pressure of the foam and without having to bend the glove before your hand clicks into its natural striking position.
The principles of Ergonomic True Fist Construction ensure that you can freely open or close your hand without disturbing the construction of the glove's hand compartment. Comfort, safety, and maximum performance are guaranteed!

Are the Rival boxing gloves suitable for men and women?
Yes.
Rival boxing gloves are - like most other brands - unisex and therefore suitable for both men and women.
Women generally choose a smaller/lighter size Rival boxing glove than men.
Can I use Rival boxing gloves for kickboxing & thai boxing?
Yes.
Rival boxing gloves are suitable for (Western) boxing, kickboxing, and thai boxing (Muay Thai).
They are also used in Krav Maga and MMA (stand-up fighting).
Rival Boxing pays attention to the smallest details in ergonomics and anatomy.
The wrist of the gloves with Conic Cuff Design is at a 15-degree angle executed so that it follows the natural angle of a boxer’s hand.
With that detail in mind, the Conic design is incorporated into the Rival boxing gloves. Look at the back of your hand: you will notice that the line from the top of your pinky to your wrist is slanted, and from your wrist to your forearm there is another angle. Unlike most other manufacturers, our boxing glove design takes this into account.
Because the wrist of the gloves with Conic Cuff Design is narrower than the cuff of the glove that fits around the forearm, these gloves fit better on a boxer’s wrist, providing maximum comfort, stability, and performance!
