The key to the success of the Ergo Strap System lies in its simplicity: a conventional strap with a uniform width is replaced by a strap that is wider on the palm side of the wrist and measures 10 cm at its widest point, providing greater comfort, stability, and support for the wrist. It has since become an industry standard.
Innovation has always been at the forefront at Rival Boxing. In fact, our entry into the market was based on a revolutionary concept that set us apart from the rest of the industry.
Before Rival Boxing introduced the Ergo Strap System, most Velcro boxing gloves used a conventional 5- or 7.5-cm strap to secure the glove. This old type of closure did little more than that and provided no support or stability for the wrist. With a little ingenuity, a simple innovation; Rival Boxing redefined what “normal” is.
The Angled Ergo Lace Track System is Rival's design for the lacing path around the wrist. The angled placement affects how you close the cuff and distribute tension.
Ergo Lace Track and later Angled Lace Track versions are not necessarily the same design. Check which version the specific Rival model has. The name does not guarantee a perfect fit or a longer lifespan than every other glove.
How does the Ergonomic True-Fist Construction work?
Ergonomic True-Fist Construction is Rival's term for the design of the hand compartment and the padding around the fist. The design is intended to let the hand close into a natural fist position.
How that feels depends on the model, your hand size and your handwraps. Check the fit of the specific model; the technology name is no guarantee of comfort or injury prevention.
Feather-Lite is Rival's term for a design approach that combines low weight with the product's intended function. It is not a separate type of material.
The specific covering, padding and intended use vary by model. The name alone does not establish a specific level of protection or guarantee a particular lifespan.
How do I care for Rival gloves, pads and headgear?
Take your Rival gear out of your gym bag right after training. Wipe it down with a clean, dry cloth and let everything air-dry in a cool, shady, well-ventilated place.
For cleaning, use only mild cleaning products or sprays made specifically for sports gear and suitable for the material. A deodorizer, such as a glove dog, and a suitable sports spray help keep your gloves fresh.
Do not use a washing machine or dryer, and avoid direct sunlight, heaters and hot cars. Do not apply petroleum jelly, oil, leather grease or heavy creams, even to leather gear. Store your gear in a dry place.
Not all Rival gloves are made of genuine leather. RS11V RS2V, RS100, RS80V, RS1 2.0, are made of microfiber which is a synthetic material made of extremely fine fibers (thinner than a hair), making it shape-retaining and wear-resistant, strong, and easy to clean..

Are Rival boxing gloves suitable for men and women?
Many boxing gloves can be worn by both men and women. The best choice depends on the hand compartment, wrist closure and intended use of the specific model.
Don't automatically choose a lower oz rating because you're a woman or a smaller athlete. Try on the gloves with handwraps and use the model-specific size chart. For a small hand, a more compact hand compartment may be more important than a lower glove weight.

The wrist of the gloves with Conic Cuff Design is set at a 15-degree angle so that it follows the natural
angle of a boxer's hand. With this detail in mind, the conical design has been incorporated into Rival boxing gloves. Look at the back of your hand: you'll notice that the line from the top of your little finger to your wrist runs diagonally, and there is another angle from your wrist to your forearm. Unlike most other manufacturers, our boxing glove design takes this into account.
