Care, washing & storage

Care for boxing gloves and headgear:

  • Take them out of your bag immediately after training
  • Wipe the exterior with a clean, dry cloth
  • Use a deodorizer to help your boxing gloves dry faster and more thoroughly on the inside
  • Store them in a cool, dry place with good natural ventilation
  • If necessary, use an antibacterial spray
  • For leather boxing gloves or headgear: use leather grease/leather conditioner once a month to prevent cracks and drying out. 

Handwrap washing instructions:

  • Partially roll up the handwraps 
  • Fasten the Velcro together
  • Use a laundry bag
  • Do not use fabric softener
  • Machine wash cold, at a maximum of 30°C; hand washing is preferred
  • Air-dry the handwraps, preferably hung out at full length.
  • Do not put the handwraps in the dryer. 

Mouthguard care:

  • Rinse under lukewarm water after use
  • Use a soft toothbrush and special mouthguard cleaner to clean the mouthguard.
  • Rinse thoroughly
  • Allow the mouthguard to air-dry completely. It is best to do this in a clean, ventilated, antimicrobial Protective case made specifically for this purpose.

The Rival Guerrero HDE-F Black Boxing Set is the complete sparring set from Rival's most exclusive line - the RFX-Guerrero Series, named after legendary boxer Humberto Guerrero and worn by world champions such as Usyk and Bivol. Entirely handmade from the finest cowhide leather, for boxers who demand the absolute best.

Material: cowhide leather. Padding: layered foam + high-density EVA (HDE-F). Sizes: 14-16 oz (gloves) + S to XL (headgear).

The HDE-F sparring glove is filled with a unique combination of layered foam laminated with high-density EVA. This gives the glove a stiffer and firmer feel than the SF-H variant - with an emphasis on maximum hand protection during intense sparring. The same fit as the professional competition glove, featuring the Angled Lace Track System that secures the wrist in an anatomically correct position.

Angled Lace Track System Angled Lace Track System

Since the first boxing gloves were made, there has always been a fundamental design flaw. More precisely, the point where the glove’s striking area met the wrist shaft was never positioned exactly where the boxer’s wrist was located.

Trainers therefore had to lace the gloves above that point and apply tape to secure the glove firmly around the wrist and provide much-needed wrist support.

That’s why Rival redesigned the construction and assembly of gloves. Inspired by the RS1 and by making the glove’s body shorter and the cuff higher, the Angled Lace Track—angled at 15 degrees— was created.

This innovative, creative, and logical design ensures that, when laced, the glove sits precisely around the boxer’s wrist, providing a perfect anatomical fit and the desired wrist support!

Tips for Rival Guerrero Boxing set

For a longer lifespan of your new Rival Geurrero set, proper care is essential.

Use a deodorizer to remove all moisture from your glove after training, then briefly spray a disinfectant spray inside your glove to combat odors and bacterial growth.

Apply a leather conditioner to your leather boxing gloves from time to time or leather grease.
