One of the most controversial moments in boxing history. Ali floored Liston in the first round with a short right hand — the 'Phantom Punch' — that many at ringside barely saw. The knockdown and Liston's failure to rise sparked conspiracy theories that persist to this day. The iconic photograph by Neil Leifer of Ali standing over the fallen Liston became one of the most recognisable sports images ever taken.
