Fabricio Andrey grew up in Manaus, Brazil, where he practiced capoeira with his father as a child—a background that gave him the flexibility and dynamic freedom of movement that would later define his grappling style. At thirteen, he discovered Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and quickly dominated the youth and colored-belt divisions, winning world titles at blue and purple belt and a European title at brown belt. In 2020, he was promoted to black belt, after which he achieved success as a senior athlete in both gi and no-gi formats, including IBJJF world and European titles and two gold medals at ADCC qualifying tournaments—including a victory over two-time ADCC world champion Giancarlo Bodoni.
Andrey spent most of his rise training under Melqui Galvão, but left the team in 2023 following a conflict he described as “a matter of respect” and joined the Alliance Jiu-Jitsu team alongside teammates Brenda Larissa and Luiz Paulo. Years later, he publicly reconciled with Galvão with a gesture of reconciliation at the Majestic 6 tournament.
At ONE Championship, Andrey debuted at ONE Fight Night 30 and built a flawless 3-0 record in the submission grappling division, with his signature flying armbar and explosive takedowns serving as trademarks—including a characteristic power stomp before his fights, a tribute to the anime Naruto, which inspired his nickname “Hokage.” Based on that perfect record, he publicly challenged lightweight submission grappling champion Kade Ruotolo. The title fight was booked for The Inner Circle, but Ruotolo withdrew because of an injury he sustained in his MMA victory over Hiroyuki Tetsuka. Instead, Andrey faced Owen Jones at ONE Fight Night 44 in June 2026. Jones won by split decision, the first defeat of Andrey’s ONE career, bringing his record to 3-1 and postponing his immediate title opportunity for the time being.
