De Vries started kickboxing at the age of seventeen in Aardenburg. Initially, he was looking for a way to control his temperament, but he soon found more in the sport than just an outlet. Under the guidance of Luc Verheije, he developed into a disciplined competitive fighter in Oostburg.
His breakthrough came in 2023. In a short time, he gained experience with Enfusion and Colosseum Tournament, where he won the first Colosseum Tournament world title in the light heavyweight division. His victories were often convincing, but just as important was the speed with which he adapted to different opponents and promotions.
De Vries then grew into an established name in the international kickboxing world. He collected titles with Enfusion and K-1 while remaining active in various weight classes. Setbacks, such as a bout that ended in a no contest and a hand injury that forced him to withdraw, were also part of that development.
De Vries remains connected to his roots in Zeeland. From Oostburg, he continues to work with Luc Verheije on his career while competing at the highest level against opponents from the Netherlands and abroad. His nickname, Tarzan, refers to the energy with which he enters the ring, but his career is above all the story of finding direction and then staying the course.
