Dutch ITF is committed to the growth and recognition of traditional ITF Taekwon-Do in the Netherlands. The federation aims to provide an environment where athletes of all ages and skill levels can develop physically, mentally, and personally.

Through schools, committees, training sessions, examinations, seminars, and competitions, Dutch ITF connects daily practice with national and international sporting activities.

The federation focuses on traditional ITF Taekwon-Do and aims to preserve the essence of the martial art while making room for professionalization and innovation. On its own website, Dutch ITF states that the organization has been affiliated with ITF-RD since 2010, which is described there as an organization with INO status within the world organization ITF.

History

From the Dutch Taekwon-Do Association to Dutch ITF

The official history on the website places the arrival of Taekwon-Do in the Netherlands in 1965, when the Korean master Kwon Moo-Gun began teaching in Venlo. Later, master Park Jong Soo also taught in the western Netherlands, after which the schools began working together.

The Dutch Taekwon-Do Association was founded in 1966. Dutch ITF describes this organization as an important predecessor and states that its own schools were affiliated with it.

Dutch ITF's organizational history then connects the federation with ITF-RD, with the affiliation reportedly dating back to 2010 according to its own website. A separate founding year for Dutch ITF itself is not mentioned on the official pages consulted.

Training, exams and competitions

Dutch ITF organizes seminars, courses, national training sessions, exams and Taekwon-Do-related activities. The Dan grade committee supports the administration of Dan grade exams in accordance with the requirements established within the federation.

The refereeing committee trains officials and keeps members informed about changes to national and international rules. The national training committee provides training and works on training and selecting the team that participates in European and World Championships.

In doing so, Dutch ITF supports both grassroots sport and the development of athletes and officials active at national and international level.

Affiliated schools are at the heart of Dutch ITF. The official website lists, among others, Taekwon-Do Association Suokjang, Taekyon Alverna, Taekwon-Do Academy Pyeonghwa, Taekwon-Do Academy Leerdam, Cheo Go Kwan Association, and Taekwondo Association Ramsoebhag.

Through these schools, athletes gain access to training sessions, exams, national activities, seminars, and competition support. The federation also publishes information about holders of dan ranks, committees, and confidential advisers.
