Boxing Federation of Kosovo

In 2026, there were thirty-seven clubs registered with the federation, spread across almost all cities in Kosovo. Pristina has the most clubs, including Prishtina, Dardanët, Fight Factory, Dodona and Gollaku, while there are also clubs in Gjakova, Prizren, Gjilan, Mitrovica, Ferizaj, Peja, Vushtrri, Klina, Rahovec, Suhareka, Shtime, Drenas, Obiliq and Fushë Kosovë.

The federation maintains its own annual calendar of national tournaments, including the individual championship, the Lah Nimani-tournament and the Pavarësia tournament held around Independence Day, and annually presents sports awards to the best boxers.

On October 3, 2026, boxing club Prishtina will organize the international tournament Shqiptärët në Boks janë Historiin the amphitheater at Zahir Pajaziti Square in Pristina, dedicated to Aziz Salihu. The federation also registers referees and publishes its documents and video material.

Kosovo is a full member of both World Boxing and European Boxing. The European governing body lists president Enver Krasniqi as the contact person.

Kosovan boxing experienced a breakthrough in 2026 with Donjeta Sadiku, who became champion in the up-to-60-kilogram division at the Mediterranean Games in Taranto. Her success received national recognition: she was received by Prime Minister Albin Kurti and the Minister of Sport, and the federation organized a press conference in her honor.

At the European Championships in Sofia in September 2026, Kosovo fielded two boxers: Sadiku in the women's event and Bashkim Bajoku in the men's up-to-55-kilogram division. Bajoku won his first two bouts 5:0 each time, first against Israeli boxer Farid Hreish and then against Albanian Kristijan Koço.

A landmark of its own is Aziz Salihu, whom the federation calls the legend of Kosovan boxing and athlete of the century. He chairs the technical committee and lends his name to the international tournament in Pristina.
