The Latvian Boxing Federation (LBS), internationally known as the Latvia Boxing Union, is Latvia’s national boxing federation. Its office is located in the ice rink of Piņķi in Mārupe Municipality, just outside Riga.

The organization

Profile

The federation describes its mission as bringing together athletes, trainers, and clubs to develop boxing at all levels, from youth sports to international competitions, with an emphasis on fair competition, professional growth, and promoting the Latvian name around the world.

The board consists of president Gatis Gudermanis, vice presidents Māris Martinsons and Ansis Pūce, secretary general Ņikita Versockis and board members Aivis Tints, Andris Morozovs, Zane Drozda, and Aivars Zeltiņš.

There are three committees: an ethics committee with Ralfs Nemiro, Rita Sproģe, and Roberts Pļāvējs, a referees' committee with Leonīds Haņevičs, Aleksejs Fatičevs, and Rolands Norkus, and a trainers' committee with Ritvars Šuļga, Ingus Zvinbergs, and Artjoms Ramlavs.

Activities and role

The federation's members are not only boxing clubs. In addition to clubs such as Jelgavas rings, Olimpiskais rings, Jūrmalas Boksa Klubs, Boksa klubs Pērkons and Ramlav Boxing Academy, municipal sports schools are also affiliated, such as those in Daugavpils, Liepāja, Auģšdaugava and Riga, as well as several companies and even the Latvian Professional Boxing Federation. Several members combine boxing with kickboxing.

The federation publishes the competition calendar, results and protocols, regulations and statutes, an athletes' register, the list of referees and its anti-doping policy, and assembles the national teams. The tournaments include the open competition Sudraba cimds, the Silver Glove.

Connection

Membership and participation

At World Boxing the federation is registered as Latvia Boxing Union with the status endorsed, with Gatis Gudermanis and Ņikita Versockis as contact persons. At European Boxing Latvia is also an endorsed member and therefore not a full member.

Nationally, the federation cooperates with the Latvian Council of Sports Federations, the Ministry of Education and Science, and the Latvian Olympic Committee.

In August 2026, Markuss Reke won bronze at the European Under-19 Championships, the most notable result of the past season.

In June 2026, the Latvian team travelled to Hungary, where Kurts Jevgrafovs and Kirils Vološovs won an international tournament.
