Lithuanian Boxing Federation

The federation draws up the national competition calendar, publishes the results, forms the national teams and accompanies them to international tournaments.

The membership list, updated on 27 June 2025, includes more than thirty affiliated organizations. In addition to regular clubs, these include the regional boxing federations of Vilnius, Kaunas, Panevėžys, Kėdainiai and Šiauliai, boxing schools such as those in Telšiai and the Šiauliai Boxing Academy, and the Lithuanian Professional Boxing Federation, which, under Romas Gudžiauskas, is itself a member of the national federation.

In September 2026, the executive committee focused on youth training, preparing the national teams and rewarding athletes.

The federation is listed with World Boxing as the Lithuanian Boxing Federation, with the status full member, with Egidijus Rutkauskas and Donatas Mačianskas as contact persons. Lithuania is also a full member of European Boxing .

The overview “Jie garsino Lietuvą”, they made Lithuania famous, spans from the Soviet era to the present day. Juozas Juocevičius was already European middleweight champion in Madrid in 1971.

After independence, Vitalijus Karpačiauskas became European champion in Bursa in 1993, along with World Championship silver in 1993 and World Championship bronze in 1995. Ivanas Stapovičius won European Championship silver in 1998, Vidas Bičiulaitis World Championship bronze in 1995, Daugirdas Šemiotas World Championship bronze in 2007, and Egidijus Kavaliauskas World Championship bronze in 2011.

The greatest successes of the modern generation are the Olympic bronze medal won by Evaldas Petrauskas in London in 2012 and the European title won by Eimantas Stanionis in 2015, both of whom later also became known for their professional boxing careers. Lithuanian boxers competed at every Olympic Games from Barcelona 1992 to Rio 2016.

The talent pipeline is still active today: Jelizaveta Jakimova became the European youth runner-up in 2026, M. Moisejenko won bronze at the Chemistry Cup, and six Lithuanians boxed at the European Championships in Sofia in September 2026.
