SwissBoxing

The federation was founded in 1913 as Schweizerischer Boxverband and was renamed Swiss Boxing Federation at the April 2009 delegates' meeting, with SwissBoxing as its short name.

The federation maintains a list of national champions from 1913 to 2006, with separate series for individual and team champions since 2007.

Light-contact boxing was included in the statutes in 2009, placed under a separate support association in 2013, and included in the national Jugend + Sport programme in 2021, enabling the federation to reach schools as well.

The federation's mission revolves around three measures: promoting athletes, creating optimal conditions, and providing targeted information about boxing as a recreational sport and as a competitive sport, with ethics as an explicit component. The emphasis is on fair, performance-oriented amateur sport.

For competitive sport, SwissBoxing works with a performance concept, regional support centers, the PISTE selection model, the FTEM talent model, and age groups from U13 to U19, brought together in the SwissBoxingTeam.

The online system eBoxing allows members to search for athletes and opponents and contains the boxing clubs, boxing matches, and the Robert Nicolet Trophy. In addition, the federation provides trainer training with mandatory continuing education, first-aid courses, and a register of licensed trainers.

For professional boxing, there are dedicated professional boxing regulations, contracts and forms, a list of licensed managers, and the gloves approved by the EBU and SwissBoxing, with its own regulations for the EBU Silver Belt. Boxing within the army also has its own page.

At World Boxing the federation is registered as SwissBoxing Federation with the status full member, with Amir Orfia as the contact person. Switzerland is also a full member of European Boxing .

Its own explanation of Olympic boxing still refers to the IBA for the amateur rules, while the professional side works with the European Boxing Union. The fact that both branches operate under one roof is, as the federation itself writes, different from most countries.
