The federation is organized into five geographic regions: Africa, Asia, Europe, Pan-America, and Oceania. A democratically elected executive committee guides international activities and the development of the sport.

An international path for Karate

The WUKF grew into an international meeting place for federations and karateka who want to practise their sport in an open and collaborative environment. The organisation developed its own calendar of world and continental championships.

Since 2013, the WUKF's headquarters have been located in Belgium. From this European base, the federation maintains contacts with members and sports organisations across different continents.

The development of the WUKF is linked to the belief that Karate can bring athletes together across borders and provide space for different organisations, styles and competitive backgrounds.
