Delta Center

The arena was conceived as a replacement for the Salt Palace, which had 12,616 seats. Under the leadership and with private financing from Utah businessman Larry H. Miller construction began on May 22, 1990; the building was completed on October 4, 1991, at a cost of 93 million dollars.

The naming rights went to Delta Air Lines. Between 2006 and 2023, the venue was successively called EnergySolutions Arena and Vivint Arena, until Delta returned as the namesake in 2023 and the original name was restored.

During the 2002 Winter Olympics the arena, under the name Salt Lake Ice Center, hosted figure skating and short-track speed skating.

Capacity varies by configuration: 18,186 seats for basketball, up to 16,020 for ice hockey and indoor football, and 20,000 for concerts, the configuration that also accommodates a ring or cage in the center of the floor.

The venue has 56 luxury suites and 668 club seats. During the renovation that began in 2025, the lower bowl was completely rebuilt, keeping the stands close to the playing surface and eliminating seats with restricted views.

Delta Center is the third-oldest arena in the NBA, after Madison Square Garden in New York and Target Center in Minneapolis.

In addition to the Utah Jazz, the arena has hosted the WNBA's Utah Starzz, the Arena Football League's Utah Blaze, and the ice hockey teams Salt Lake Golden Eagles and Utah Grizzlies over the years.
