UFC Apex

In 2017, Ari Emanuel inquired about the available property next to UFC headquarters, a former headquarters of slot-machine manufacturer Scientific Games. The UFC bought it in October 2018 for $40 million and invested an additional $30 million in the interior for media production.

The complex opened on June 18, 2019. During the coronavirus pandemic, virtually all UFC events in the United States were held here behind closed doors. Afterward, the Apex continued to host selected Fight Nights, now again with an audience.

The building covers 130,000 square feet, equivalent to approximately 12,000 square metres, and is designed for both live events and studio recordings.

The location was chosen deliberately: it is opposite the UFC Performance Institute, the organization’s headquarters.

With room for approximately a thousand spectators, the Apex is the opposite of a large arena. The audience sits right next to the cage, giving the events an intimate, almost studio-like atmosphere that comes across well on television.

The Apex is owned by TKO Group Holdings and hosts events from several divisions of that group, including the UFC, Zuffa Boxing, and WWE.

It is also home to UFC BJJ and the organization's other grappling projects, the Power Slap competition, and the Contender Series, the program through which fighters try to earn a contract.
