Martial arts around Beegden

Beegden does not have its own martial arts club. Anyone who lives in the village and wants to practice martial arts must rely on clubs in the surrounding villages and in Roermond.

One of the established clubs in the immediate area is Ilyo Taekwondo Club in Grathem, one of the region's older taekwondo clubs.

A village on the Meuse

Beegden is located approximately six kilometres west of Roermond, in a rural area along the Meuse. In such a small community, having its own martial arts club is not a given.

The short distances in Central Limburg do make it easy to train in a neighbouring village or in Roermond.

Martial Arts History

There is no documented martial arts history with a location in Beegden itself. In the region, Taekwondo association Ilyo, founded in 1982, is one of the clubs with a long track record.
