About this city

Multiple martial arts traditions by the fjord. Vejle brings boxing, full-contact karate and Shotokan together with taekwondo, judo, Jiu-Jitsu and modern striking and MMA training. Each club has its own training pathway and coaching staff.

The city is located in the Triangle Region with Kolding and Fredericia. In addition to daily training at clubs and gyms, DGI Huset Vejle provides space for sporting events.

Boxing and striking. The boxing section of Vejle Kammeraterne offers Olympic boxing and fitness boxing. Apex Gym represents Muay Thai, K-1 and MMA, with Luan Kadishani as head coach.

Dojos and dojangs. Vejle Karate Klub and Vejle Shotokan Karate Do represent different karate disciplines. Vejle Taekwondo Klub has its own team of instructors for youth, adults and competition training.

Judo and Jiu-Jitsu. Vejle Judo Klub has an integrated Jiu-Jitsu section. This adds a separate training path to the traditional judo offering.

Geography and character

Fjordstad in the Triangle Region. Vejle is located in a hilly area on the Vejle Fjord and is part of the Triangle Region together with Kolding and Fredericia.

History

1931: the boxing division of Vejle Kammeraterne. The boxing division represents an early chapter in Vejle's organized martial arts history. Boxing thereby gained its own club foundation.

1975: Vejle Karate Klub. Vejle Karate Klub was founded in 1975. The club's history connects Kyokushin with the later practice of Ashihara Karate.

A broader training landscape. Shotokan, taekwondo, judo and Jiu-Jitsu represent additional club-based paths. Apex Gym adds Muay Thai, K-1 and MMA. Each of these disciplines has its own place alongside the older boxing and karate traditions.

Martial arts landscape

Vejle Kammeraterne has a boxing department at Søndermarksvej 121, offering Olympic boxing and fitness boxing. The association is also involved in community projects.

Vejle Karate Klub is located at Volmersgade 7 and offers Ashihara Karate, self-defense, and kickboxing.

Apex Gym offers Muay Thai, K-1, and MMA under the guidance of head coach Luan Kadishani.

Vejle Shotokan Karate Do and Vejle Taekwondo Klub each have their own technical team. Vejle Judo Klub combines the judo association with an integrated Jiu-Jitsu department.
