Sardari moved from Tehran to the Netherlands as a four-year-old political refugee. He grew up in Tilburg-Noord, where his family formed the foundation of his life in the Netherlands. At the age of ten, he started karate. Eight years later, he switched to MMA, a sport in which he could further develop his discipline and competitive mindset.
After a successful and undefeated amateur career, Sardari turned professional at the age of 21. He won his professional debut in 2014 by arm-triangle choke. From that point on, he built his career on the international circuit, appearing for organizations including Cage Warriors, Shooto Japan, Ares FC, and OKTAGON MMA.
At Cage Warriors, Sardari became a two-time world champion at lightweight. This made him the organization’s first Dutch titleholder in the 70 kg division. His development also earned him a European MMA title and a place with other major promotions.
Sardari now trains with the Honeybadgers, based at Sportvision Eindhoven and B-Me Tilburg. Jochem Branderhorst guides him as head coach and MMA and BJJ specialist. He also works with Bart Dooremalen on his mental and physical preparation and with striking coach Machiel de Boer on his stand-up. From Tilburg, The Wolverine remains active at the highest level.
