Miura initially worked at a bone-setting clinic before being inspired by a fighter patient to take up MMA herself. With a third-dan judo black belt as her foundation, she built a reputation at the Japanese promotions Pancrase and DEEP Jewels as a ruthless submission hunter, with a finishing rate of nearly 90% in her victories. Her nickname, “Zombie,” was given to her by her coach Ryo Chonan after he saw her inexhaustible determination during sparring.
In 2019, she signed with ONE Championship and initially competed at strawweight, where she lost a world title fight against the dominant Xiong Jing Nan by decision. She then moved to atomweight, where she put together a five-fight winning streak with four submissions and established herself for years as one of the most logical contenders for the world title. A long-awaited title shot against Denice Zamboanga was scheduled for November 16, 2025, at ONE 173 in Tokyo, but Zamboanga withdrew for medical reasons in late August 2025, later linked to her pregnancy.
On April 29, 2026, Miura suffered a setback at ONE SAMURAI 1 in Tokyo: Chihiro Sawada submitted her in the first round with an armbar. On July 17, 2026, she suffered a second consecutive defeat at ONE Fight Night 45, this time by unanimous decision against Brazil’s Victoria Souza. These results have put pressure on Miura’s long-standing status as the number-one contender. As of September 2026, Chihiro Sawada appears to have the strongest claim to a fight for the vacant title, while Miura first needs to win convincingly again.
