Phetjeeja Lukjaoporongtom, born Ninlada Meekun on December 31, 2001, in Thailand’s Sisaket province, grew up in an environment where girls had little access to Muay Thai gyms for women. Her father, Or Mee Khun, therefore built his own gym at home so that his daughter—who began training and fighting in Muay Thai at the age of seven under the guidance of her uncles—could still train and compete. Because there were hardly any female opponents of her level in her region, the young Phetjeeja mainly fought boys and had already built a record of more than one hundred bouts by the age of ten, over seventy of them against male opponents. This earned her the nickname “The Girl Who Could Defeat Boys.”
In 2013, Thai legislation ended her bouts against boys once they were broadcast on television, after which Phetjeeja focused entirely on women’s Muay Thai competition. At the age of fourteen, she became the 2016 WMC Muay Thai world champion in the -45kg division, followed by a WPMF world title in the 105-pound division in 2017. She also ventured into Olympic boxing and joined the Thai national boxing team in 2018 before returning her full focus to Muay Thai and kickboxing.
After impressive performances in the ONE Friday Fights series in 2023, Phetjeeja was offered a lucrative six-figure contract with ONE Championship. In December 2023, she defeated Anissa Meksen by unanimous decision to win the interim ONE Women’s Atomweight Kickboxing World Championship. On March 9, 2024, she unified the title with a victory over Janet Todd, also by unanimous decision. Since then, she has successfully defended her crown, including against Japanese veteran Kana Morimoto in March 2025.
In 2026, Phetjeeja took the step into a second sport within the organization. On June 19–20, she faced Brazil’s Allycia Hellen Rodrigues for the ONE Women’s Atomweight Muay Thai World Championship at ONE The Inner Circle 19 in Bangkok. After an epic five-round war, Phetjeeja lost by split decision, the first defeat of her career in ONE Championship. Her kickboxing title remained completely unaffected by the bout.
As of September 2026, Phetjeeja, now 24 years old, is still the reigning ONE Women’s Atomweight Kickboxing World Champion, with an overall fight record of approximately 210 wins against just 6 losses. A scheduled title defense against Greek challenger Antonia Prifti at The Inner Circle 28 was canceled in late August 2026 after Phetjeeja withdrew shortly before the fight with a hand injury. A new date for the defense had not yet been announced as of the cutoff date.
