Yu Yau Pui

Profile

The story

Yu Yau Pui is a 33-year-old Muay Thai fighter from Hong Kong who trains at KF 1. At her parents’ urging, she took piano and dance lessons as a child, but inspired by Jackie Chan’s films, she started Muay Thai as a teenager to stay fit. After impressing coaches during sparring, she began fighting seriously and quit university to become a full-time fighter. After four wins in her first five ONE bouts, she earned a six-figure contract.
In ONE, she is 7-3 with four finishes. Her wins include victories over Lara Fernandez and Anna Jaroonsak (TKO in round 1), but she has lost to Amy Pirnie, Martyna Dominczak, and Kana. At ONE Fight Night 48 in Bangkok, she will face British-Irish fighter Marie McManamon in the atomweight division.
