Roskilde

AIK Roskilde

Since 1930, AIK Roskilde has carried the name Arbejdernes Idrætsklub. That long boxing history continues in the training room at Kildegården 13, where competitive ambitions are not the only thing that matters. Anyone who comes for exercise and social interaction will also find a place there.
Every new participant starts with recreational boxing. This is where the first connection with the club is formed, without anyone needing to have a competitive career in mind. Those who later want to step into the ring can discuss that move with head coach Antoni Sprengel.

The club describes its training sessions as challenging, while leaving room to meet other people and have fun. Alongside recreational and competitive boxing, Parkinson’s boxing has its own place in the program. This allows AIK to remain a boxing club with many different reasons to join, united by the same club.

Intro

A boxing tradition since 1930. At AIK Roskilde, every new member starts in the recreational group. From this shared starting point, some choose exercise and enjoyment, while others, under Antoni Sprengel's guidance, develop into competition-team members.

Atmosphere and culture

Train hard, have fun togetherAIK emphasizes challenging training, but places just as much emphasis on meeting other people and having fun. New members start in the same recreational environment, regardless of their fitness level when they join.

The first introduction can be through a trial class in the recreational group. For those who develop ambitions to compete, head coach Antoni Sprengel is the person to contact. That way, members do not need to know during their first training session where boxing will ultimately lead.

History

Workers' Sports Club. AIK has existed since 1930 and is one of Denmark's older amateur boxing clubs. The full name preserves the connection with Roskilde's workers' sports community. The club continues that history with both recreational groups and a competition team.
