Atmosphere and culture

Mixed club where fun, a positive atmosphere, and respect come first. International students call it more serious and professional than student sports, at a reasonable price.

About this location

For decades, the club has been at the heart of Groningen's boxing scene. Programs such as Girl Power Boxing and Real Men Boxing were developed here to teach boxing in a structured way in a short period of time.

History

After Gerlach passed away in 2007, volunteers kept the club running, with competitive sport as a top priority. In 2016, Dutch champion Quirijn Kroese took over the day-to-day management. The club is now part of Boxing Society, which also has a location in Utrecht.

Famous fighters

Wim Gerlach, seven-time Dutch champion and participant in the 1960 and 1964 Olympic Games. Quirijn Kroese, Dutch champion in 2016.
