Germaine de Randamie was born on 24 April 1984 in the Netherlands. A pioneering Dutch combat sports athlete, she became the first UFC Women’s Featherweight Champion in history—and one of the most technically gifted strikers ever to compete in women’s MMA. She built her foundation in kickboxing, where she compiled an undefeated record in sanctioned competition. Her exceptional punching technique, precision, and knockout power made her a standout on the European kickboxing scene before she transitioned to MMA. After competing in Strikeforce, she joined the UFC and made history on 17 February 2017 by defeating Holly Holm to claim the inaugural UFC Women’s Featherweight Championship. She later also competed for the UFC Bantamweight title, cementing her status as one of the elite Dutch fighters of her generation. De Randamie is part of a proud Dutch tradition of combat sports excellence, combining the technical striking heritage of Dutch kickboxing with the demands of modern MMA.
