Gilbert Ballantine
Gilbert Ballantine was born on 14 March 1961 in Suriname and built his career in the Netherlands. 9x world champion in kickboxing and Muay Thai – one of the most decorated Dutch combat sports fighters of his generation.
His versatility was exceptional. Not only did he dominate in kickboxing and Muay Thai, but he also competed in MMA, winning three Rings Netherlands championships. Very few fighters have excelled across that many disciplines at world level.
Ballantine's technical precision, tactical intelligence and relentless work ethic defined his career. He was a model professional whose approach to training and competition served as a blueprint for the fighters who came after him in the Dutch combat sports scene.
