Jonathan Giovanni Di Bella was born on August 18, 1996, in Montreal, Quebec, as the son of a two-time kickboxing world champion. From the age of two, he was already training on the mats with his father Angelo, who taught him every nuance of the craft at the family gym, Di Bella Kickboxing. This early, intensive training, combined with a Kyokushin karate black belt, gave him a technical foundation that few of his peers possessed. Di Bella built an impressive record as an amateur and later as a professional, including in the European kickboxing promotion Glory.
He signed with ONE Championship with an undefeated record and immediately seized his opportunity: in October 2022, he defeated Zhang Peimian for the vacant ONE Strawweight Kickboxing World Title. From that point on, he developed into the undisputed face of the division, with successful title defenses against fighters including Danial Williams.
The year 2025 was exceptional for Di Bella: after losing his title to Prajanchai P.K. Saenchaimuaythaigym in mid-2024, he first won the interim title in March 2025 by defeating legendary fighter Sam-A Gaiyanghadao, then defeated Prajanchai in a rematch in October 2025 and unified both belts into a single undisputed world title. Those achievements earned him recognition as ONE Championship’s Kickboxer of the Year 2025.
As of September 2026, Di Bella remains the reigning and undefeated ONE Strawweight Kickboxing World Champion. On July 17, 2026, he successfully defended his title against Zhang Peimian once again, in a rematch of their first meeting nearly four years earlier, winning by unanimous decision after five rounds at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok. This brought his head-to-head record against the Chinese challenger to 2–0 and his professional record to 16 wins and 1 loss. Outside the ring, he is engaged to Emely Elizabeth Rodriguez, with whom he plans to marry in late 2026 or early 2027, and he has openly flirted with a future move to or superfight in Muay Thai.
Di Bella is trained by his father, Angelo Di Bella, at Di Bella Kickboxing. He is active with his own coffee brand, Di Bella Espresso, as a personal business.
