From competitive fighter to coach. Kampmann fought his last professional bout in August 2013. In early 2014, he announced a break from his fighting career. In September of that year, he was appointed as a full-time coach at Team Alpha Male in Sacramento, California.
The move to Team Alpha Male brought him into an American MMA training environment focused on guiding other fighters. His background in boxing, Muay Thai, wrestling, and submission grappling formed the technical foundation he brought to his coaching work.
Back to Denmark. At Great Danes Fight Club in Odense, Kampmann became involved with the MMA program and competition team. The club was founded in 2018 and combines MMA with separate programs for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, no-gi grappling, Muay Thai, and K-1, among others.
Within this broad club, he is responsible for the MMA division. The program brings together striking techniques, wrestling, and ground work. Kampmann's experience with international opponents and different phases of combat fits this combined training environment.
