Mark Hunt was born on 23 March 1974 in Auckland, New Zealand, of Samoan descent. K-1 World Grand Prix 2001 champion and one of the hardest punchers in combat sports history. Hunt's path to the top was one of the most remarkable in fighting. Growing up in extreme poverty and hardship, he found combat sports as a way out and became one of the most feared heavyweight strikers the world has seen. His K-1 2001 Grand Prix victory cemented him as an elite kickboxer. In the UFC he delivered some of the most spectacular knockouts in heavyweight history - against Wanderlei Silva, Mirko Cro Cop and Roy Nelson among others. His trademark 'walk-off' KO - turning away before the referee even stops the fight, knowing the punch was enough - became one of MMA's most iconic images. Hunt competed in the UFC until 2018, fighting the best heavyweights in the world with an iron chin and one-punch KO power that never faded.
