One of the most celebrated Dutch martial artists of his generation: as a teenage prodigy, Tyjani Beztati signed with GLORY, went on to become a long-reigning lightweight champion, and at the peak of his kickboxing career chose a new challenge in the MMA cage.

The story

Beztati became a mainstay at GLORY Kickboxing at a young age. After several unsuccessful title attempts, he won the vacant lightweight title in 2021 and went on to defend it multiple times. As a result, he became the record holder for wins in the GLORY lightweight division.

After retiring from kickboxing in 2025, he switched to MMA. He won his first three professional fights at Levels Fight League, after which he faces a major test against Daniel Kolasiński at LFL24 in Den Bosch. His status as a kickboxing legend is based on his completed career; his MMA chapter is still in its early stages.

Fighting style

In kickboxing, Beztati combined his height and reach with long jabs, powerful kicking combinations, and precise distance control. His style was methodical and explosive, with a strong fighter's mentality. In MMA, he has so far primarily demonstrated striking dominance and knockout power; his ground game and wrestling defense still need to prove themselves at the highest level.

Legacy

Beztati is regarded as one of the most successful Dutch kickboxers of his generation. His journey from being the youngest GLORY fighter ever signed to becoming a long-reigning champion and record holder for wins is a landmark story in Dutch kickboxing. His transition to MMA also brings additional attention to the Dutch MMA scene and Levels Fight League. His legendary status is based on his concluded kickboxing career; his MMA legacy has yet to be built.
