Utrecht

Utrecht is the birthplace of Germaine ‘The Iron Lady’ de Randamie, who on February 11, 2017 became the first UFC women’s featherweight champion and, in doing so, the first Dutch UFC champion. Utrecht’s MMA story began earlier: in the 1990s, Rings Holland held freefight events at De Vechtsebanen. Today, you can train in MMA in Utrecht at places including The Colosseum Gym, where Jason Wilnis began his combat sports career before switching from kickboxing to MMA. On June 15, 2025, LFL 18 took place at Jaarbeursplein, which the organizer called the Netherlands’ first professional outdoor MMA event.

Introduction

History of this sport

Rings Holland in De Vechtsebanen.

Rings Holland organiseerde gala’s in beide steden.
