Techniques and range

Hanmudo can combine techniques from different ranges: striking and kicking range, clinch range, throwing range, and ground fighting. Combining techniques does not mean that every school places equal emphasis on all components.

A curriculum can combine unarmed self-defense with Korean weapons training. Claims that the system is automatically suitable against every larger or stronger attacker are not adopted as a guarantee.

Graduation and organization

Many schools use a ranking system of colored belts and dan grades. The requirements, examination formats, titles, and organizational structure may vary. References to the World Hanmudo Association apply within the context of the relevant organization and do not automatically constitute a universal standard for all Hanmudo schools.

Hanmudo in the Netherlands
