Williams built a strong amateur career with national titles, a quarter-final finish at the 2021 World Championships, and bronze at the 2022 European Championships. On 7 August 2022, he won the heavyweight gold medal at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, defeating Ato Plodzicki-Faoagali in the final. In December 2024, Williams made his professional debut with a knockout victory over Lamah Griggs. He trains at Cleary’s Boxing Gym in Royal Leamington Spa under the guidance of Edwin Cleary.
