On 29 March 2026, he won in Manchester by ninth-round stoppage against Ryan Griffiths, capturing the English featherweight title and the Commonwealth Silver belt. Birchall is part of a prominent boxing family. His brothers William and Leighton are also professional boxers. He is developing his career from Joe McNally's training camp in Liverpool.
