Harold Clark

Harold Clark began his development in the boxing and martial arts gyms of New York. There, he learned the trade through punching bag training, work in the ring, and guidance from coaches. Later, he trained and coached internationally in various martial arts.

In Hellerup he brings that experience together in his own studio at Strandvejen 70. He guides beginners, recreationalists, and competitive athletes through personal sessions and small private groups.

Profile

The story

Striking and gentle movement work are not separate worlds for Clark. His classes include boxing, kickboxing and Muay Thai, alongside kung fu and tai chi. He describes the powerful work of Muay Thai and the controlled breathing of tai chi as different aspects of the same practice.

The choice of a personal studio gives him the space to tailor each session to the participant. Load, pace and points of focus are adjusted to experience, goals and how someone moves that day. This approach applies both to an introduction to martial arts and to further technical development.

Method

Training approach

Foundation before spectacle is one of Clark's guiding principles. Posture, balance, breathing, and defense come first. His coaching focuses on carefully building skills rather than immediately using complex techniques.

The person before the program determines how he teaches. He tailors exercises to each session and treats every discipline with respect for its own practice. For him, confidence and personal development are part of the work, alongside fitness and technique.
