Profile

The story

Van Haaren grew up in Nijmegen and competed in boxing matches from a young age. Boksfabriek Nijmegen lists multiple national super-heavyweight titles. After his active years, he became a coach and taught boxing, among other places, at the Radboud Sports Centre.

As co-founder and owner-coach of Boksfabriek Nijmegen, he is involved in competition training as well as coaching other groups. The club describes his work with people with Parkinson’s and young people. In addition to his work at the gym, Boksfabriek mentions him as the competition secretary of the boxing federation.

Van Haaren draws on his competition experience when coaching boxers. His work extends beyond the competition group: athletes with Parkinson’s and young people also receive his attention to technique, movement, and self-confidence.
